General Business:

  1. How long has CabParts been in business?
    We shipped our first order of CabParts in March of 1987.

  2. How many employees does CabParts have?
    CabParts employs 25 to 30.

  3. How large is the manufacturing facility?
    23,000 square feet.

  4. Do you have a website?
    Yes, the address is www.cabparts.com.

  5. Can I order boxes directly from the website?
    Not currently. However you can order a paper catalog and / or a sample cabinet, download a full-line digital catalog and e-mail CabParts from the website.

  6. What is your e-mail address?

  7. Besides sending a FAX order, will you accept an order via email?
    Yes, you can list the boxes in an e-mail, or scan an order form and send it as an attachment, or send an Excel file attached to and e-mail. You may also send the cabinet box listing, saved as a text file, from a design program, such as 20 / 20, or CabinetVision.

  8. Will you accept an order on disc?
    Yes, a floppy disc with your cabinet box listing saved as a text file.

  9. What are your business terms and conditions?
    50% deposit required at time of order confirmation, balance due prior to shipping. You may apply for open account with terms of net 30. All orders are shipped FOB factory, Grand Junction, CO., freight charges collect.

  10. Does CabParts accept credit cards?
    Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

  11. Is CabParts a member of any trade organizations?

  1. What equipment does CabPartsuse?
    • Schelling model FL 330 panel saw

  2. What is the capacity of the plant? How large an order can you produce?
    CabParts can comfortably produce 300 cabinet boxes per day, plus accessories, in small run orders. Large single orders of multiple like-sized boxes allow a much higher per day output.

  3. Which melamine colors do you stock?
    We stock 3/4", 5/8" & 1/4" thick, G2S panels in white, almond, gray, natural maple and black Duramine panels from Roseburg. We also stock R. Oak, Maple and Cherry wood veneer/MDF panels. (Additionally,see #6 below)

  4. What is the grade of particle board substrate used in  your stock thermofused melamines?
    The particle board substrate meets an M-2 spec with a density range meeting that industry specification. The core is western pine.

  5. What gram weight of paper do you use on your stocking panels?
    110 gram basis weight papers are used on our stocking panels.

  6. Will you manufacture using other brands/types of panels?
    Yes, for instance: Roseburg or Panolam products, Medite II, Baltic Birch, just to name a few. Some orders may be too small to warrant the cost of a few panels being brought in to the factory, either in minimum order amounts or freight cost. There will be upcharge for special ordered material, which will be clearly shown on your order acknowledgment.

  7. What is your lead time?
    CabParts averages a 10-12 working-day lead time, from receipt of order to day of shipping. We do experience busy periods. If time is an issue, please check with CabParts. Special ordered materials may add to the turn around time. Shipping time will add 2 – 6 working days to production lead time.

Product & Freight:

  1. How do I get a paper catalog?
    You can order one online, buy one at a tradeshow, or call us directly to order one. They cost $20.00 plus UPS. The paper catalog comes with a coupon worth $20.00 toward your first order of 15 cabinet boxes or more.

  2. Is CabParts catalog available online?
    Yes, it is available as a download free of charge. It is exactly the same catalog as the paper version, but in PDF format. The current file size is 3.6MB. The download may take up to 25 minutes, depending on connection. Be certain to save the file to your hard drive after downloading. The PDF file requires the current version of Adobe Reader.

  3. How do CabParts boxes assemble?
    CabParts offers two methods of assembly:
    • 8mm x 30mm hardwood dowels, factory inserted, final glue joint by the customer. Clamping time is about 20 – 30 minutes depending upon humidity.
    • Confirmat screws with factory inserted 8mm hardwood dowels for alignment, no glue required. Confirmat screws provided at no additional cost.

  4. Can CabParts be ordered with 5/8" or 3/4" thick backs?
    Yes, for a nominal fee covering extra material etc. Backs are automatically milled for a rabbet joint, unless a doweled-in back is requested.

  5. Will CabParts cut to my size requirements?
    Yes, within broad constraints regarding raw material sizes and structural values, CabParts may be sized to your specifications. There is a nominal upcharge for this service. (Additionally, see #7 below)

  6. What is your manufacturing tolerance?
    Plus or minus 1/64" (.015625"). Our saw cuts are very accurate and square. All milling is accomplished off of finished edges.

  7. What are some of the options available from CabParts? 
    Custom width, height or depth of boxes, custom drilling patterns, custom interior configurations, adjust line drilling for face frame construction, edgebanding from any of the major manufacturers in PVC's and wood veneers or plastic laminates, and custom laid-up melamine or veneer panels, are some of the more common options. CabParts also offers fully-assembled dovetailed drawer boxes.

  8. Can I get hardware with my CabParts order?
    Functional hardware, yes. When ordered with a job, we can supply Euro-style hinges, drawer guides, system screws etc. We do not supply decorative hardware such as pulls or knobs.

  9. What is the minimum order?
    No minimum order.

  10. Can I get a large order shipped in phases?
    Yes, large orders are frequently phased for shipment. There may be additional charges for extra pallets or organization of parts, etc.

  11. Will CabParts ship my order to a job site?
    Yes, if the shipping instructions are clear on your order. You must have payment ready, or payment terms arranged with the shipping company, because the shipment will arrive freight charges collect at the site of delivery.

  12. If the plant is in Colorado, isn't freight expensive to where I am?
    Because CabParts flat-packs your order we earn up to 75% discounts on outbound LTL freight. In addition to the discounts, we check every order for best carrier and rate to your area. Orders are shipped freight charges collect.

  13. Which freight companies does CabParts use?
    Yellow Freight Systems, Fed Ex Freight, USF Reddaway (and their allied companies), DATS Trucking, RAC Transport, Conway Express, Roadway and a few other regional carriers. Orders of 7,000 pounds or greater may be quoted by a carrier on a one-time, one-haul contract rate. United Parcel Service is utilized whenever practical. Some customers contract with a freight company of their choosing to pick up at the factory. Customer will call is also welcome.

  14. Do you package in separate units?
    No, since the components are shipped flat, unassembled, it would add greatly to the cost of delivery to sort and package individually. Also, assembled boxes ship at a much higher freight rate.

  15. If the components come to me nested together on a pallet "all mixed up", how will I know what goes with what?
    Every part has a removable label affixed to it that identifies it by cabinet type, part name and its item number from the order. As you unpack a pallet, organize like item numbers together. When all is unpacked each case will have all of its requisite parts ready for assembly.

  16. Are CabParts boxes certified under the AWI Quality Certification Program? (QCP)
    Because CabParts cabinet boxes are not fully assembled at the factory, the assembled boxes must be certified thru the assembler / installer. When assembled according to CabParts specifications and properly installed per AWI specification our cabinet boxes meet or exceed AWI Custom Grade, using either construction method.

  17. Which laminate colors come closest to matching your stock melamines?
